Bloat Theories Debunked By Veterinary Association
The American Veterinary Medical Association reports that many bloat beliefs are outdated. Bloat in livestock results from gas accumulation rather than excessive production, legumes do not inherently pollute gas levels, and paunch pressures are unlikely to kill animals. Carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide are the only poisonous paunch gases, with small increases potentially fatal.
