Highlights of C H 8 by Doris Jean Kennedy
The seventh issue of The Mike was produced entirely by the class of 48. The staff declares the eighth issue will be edited by the Junior class with Merna Quick and Ramon a Walgreen as associate editors. The staff party is a first part of May weiner roast. The Popularity Contest shifts to odd criteria such as biggest feet and most bashful. Five trackmen from Osceola competed in the Columbus Invitational, with Adams placing fourth in the 100 yard dash and the relay disqualified over a pass. An O club party featured a boys versus girls basketball game won by the boys 15 to 4, refereed by Mr. LaMunyon and Diana Buhl. Freshmen defeated Sophomores 20 to 9 and Juniors 18 to 5 in the inter-class tournament. Softball follows in Phys Ed as seniors receive graduation materials amid looming events.
