W. J. Query traveled to Stromsburg to help his son in law Ornie Fellows load his cars for Bird City Kansas where shipments were made on Tuesday. Fellows purchased a quarter section near Bird City Kansas last fall.
Leroy Price of Sidney, visiting the Andersons near Swede Home, returned home yesterday after a few days stay at their residence.
Mrs H L Bond remains ill but shows improvement this week. Horace Willetts also ill at his daughter Mrs B H Finney s home but better today. John Holt recovering slowly from a past light stroke. Mrs D By Morgan of Boulder Colo visiting her niece Mrs Norval Pearce today. Norris and Wilber Hotchkiss arrived from Casper Wyo after a land drawing trip. Norris likely to return. Wilber on a health trip and improving. Mrs W W McIntosh of Potter visiting friends in town. Miss Otelia Johnson returned from Omaha trip. Maxime Lott slowly recovering from bronchial pneumonia after a bout of illness.
Mrs Mary Edna Anderson aged 38 died April 9 1920 at her Osceola Nebraska home after a six week illness. She leaves husband Frank H Anderson children Margret Welch and Ross Sherwood, parents J R Welch Davenport Iowa, three brothers and many relatives. Funeral Sunday at 2 PM from Osceola Presbyterian Church, Rev W W Alderson officiating. burial in Osceola cemetery.

Seven neighborhood children attended Calmie Stephenson’s sixth birthday with refreshments provided by Mrs Stephenson and sisters. Mrs J F Rosenberry hosted her Sunday School class with games and a picnic lunch.

Ellen Tipton Meyers of Zanesville born January 6 1842 died April 10 1920 aged 78 years 3 months 4 days married Richard B Myers September 28 1871. Four children Zenas F John Richard and Mrs Mary Ramage live in Polk with 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. husband died January 2 1895. She lived in Central City Nebraska seven years after leaving Ohio. member of Market Street Baptist Church in Zanesville and Central City Baptist Church thereafter. A devout Christian devoted wife and mother cared for others and trusted in God’s grace.
York candidate M M Wildman seeks the District Judge nomination at the upcoming primaries. A 25 year practicing lawyer, he has served as York City Attorney, York County Attorney, and County Judge, and is allied with local civic and business interests. He pledges decisive action and will not hesitate to challenge bar members when needed to enforce the law and protect county residents.
August W Johnson seeks admission to citizenship with a hearing set in the District Court before Judge E Good of Wahoo. He is accused of illegal ballot casting in November 1919 for the constitutional Convention delegate race and has faced calls to oust him from the Polk County office.
The first ceremony in the Elks Home parlor at Grand Island Nebraska joined John Revell of Frankfort Kentucky to Eva B. Anderson of Osceola Nebraska on Thursday April 8 1920. Revell a civil engineer and bride Eva Anderson planned a reception at the bridesmaids’ home and later dinners in Osceola and Pell County. They will reside in Denver Colorado after May 1.

The senate confirmed W. E. Snider as Osceola postmaster on Saturday after a wire from Senator Norris. His commission is expected in a few days. Band Concert Great Success at the auditorium drew a large crowd last Thursday night. The musician company, led by L. A. Israel, impressed with vocal and instrumental numbers by local talent.
The First M. E. Church invites all Sunday school pupils to participate in a cross country race along the Lincoln Highway from San Francisco to Reno with a reception for the first class to reach Reno Nevada. Twenty classes compete and perfect attendance is urged with teacher presence or a substitute. Dr Long and Prof Grindle are lined up to speak at services next Sunday.
John Wedberg born July 21 1839 in Sweden died April 2 1920 at his daughter’s home in Osceola Nebraska at age 80 years 8 months 12 days. He married Anna Lindblom in 1863 she died August 1901. Survived by daughter Alma a child who died at seven Nels Anderson of Osceola eight grandchildren ten great grandchildren two nieces Stromsburg and a Chicago nephew. Immigrated 1881 lived near Clarks Nebraska then Stromsburg 17 years. He joined Swedish Baptist Church in 1887 and remained devoted. He died peacefully after suffering and prayed for reunion on the other shore.
