Margaret Isabella Inness Scott wife of William Scott of Shelby Nebraska died April 6 1934 at age 62 years 6 months 4 days. She was born October 2 1871 in Hanover Indiana and moved to Nebraska in 1873. Survived by husband four children Arthur and John Scott Wilma Has tings Earl Chadron and four grandsons. Funeral at Shelby Methodist Church conducted by Rev E E Pengelly and Rev J W Stivers on Sunday. interment Shelby Graceland Cemetery.

Mail Vote Causes Tie At Stromsburg Mayor Race
The Stromsburg mayoral contest initially showed Dr. Minnick ahead of Roy Ericson by four votes after last Tuesday’s tally. Nine mail votes counted Monday evening shifted six to Ericson and two to Minnick, with one ballot not voting for mayor, creating a tie and leaving Stromsburg unsure of the next step. The straw draw rule does not apply to municipal elections, so a vacancy could be declared and the council may appoint a mayor.

A brand new Plymouth sedan driven by Emil S Johnson of Stromsburg collided head on with a Kansas driver on highway 66 about forty rods west of highway 81 Friday evening. Both drivers were badly bruised. Johnson suffered several cracked ribs and the cars were badly wrecked.

Re opened Wheat Sign Up for Farmers Missing Fall Contract
The wheat adjustment contract is reopened to all farmers who did not sign last fall. Eligible growers may complete or start applications to receive 1933 1934 and 1935 payments.
