Public works bids for Meridian road projects in Polk County are due by 10 am April 29 in Lincoln. Projects include 88 miles of gravel road Osceola-David City and 20 miles Earth and Gravel road Osceola-Stromsburg with a new bridge, starting by June 1 and finishing by September 1 or December 1. Readiness files are at the county clerk and state engineer offices in Lincoln.

Election Results Show City Keeps Status Quo
Voters turnout was light in the city election held Tuesday with the entire caucus slate elected. A total of 352 ballots were cast. 155 in the north ward and 197 in the south. Two franchise renewals for Nebraska Gas & Electric Co were defeated by margins of 156 and 169, and Sunday baseball also lost 126 to 200. In the school race M. A. Mills and George Bond won three year terms, Aug. P. Andersen filling a vacancy. Officers chosen include Mayor S. A. Snider, City Clerk Fred Schuman, City Treasurer P. W. Horat, Police Magistrate John A. Albin, and two councilmen.
