On March 27 thirteen 4-H leaders from Polk County trained at Singer Sewing Center Columbus to teach young seamstresses. The session covered machine operation maintenance and cleaning across models. Soldier Deploys to Germany in Gyroscope Rotation
Pvt. Duane E. Henggeler left Fort Sill Oklahoma for Germany March 27 as part of Operation Gyroscope the Army unit rotation plan. The 18 year old clerk in the battalion entered the Army last September and completed basic training at Camp Chaffee Ark. Henggeler is the son of Mrs. Sylvan Fox Stromsburg.

First Airplane Ride for 84 Year Old Lady
