The Ri alto Theatre hosted a large crowd for the Stromsburg Variety Show presented by the Woman's Civic Improvement Club under Mrs. Wallace Scott and Mrs A V Eielson. The Royal Troubadours led the musical program followed by readings, vocal selections, and a town society skit with thirteen members. The finale featured the Ethiopian Minstrels with Claywon Rystrom as interlocutor shaping a lively sequence of songs and stories.

A large fire destroyed the Albert W. Larson farm horse barn early Wednesday. no horses were harmed and Stromsburg Fire Company saved nearby structures. In a spirited city election, Dr. Minnick was reelected mayor, O E Bodine clerk, C H Moline treasurer, Eric Forslund police judge, John Olson and Jim Branting councilmen, with about 500 votes cast and a change in one board of education seat.

The third annual Mother Daughter Banquet was hosted last Wednesday in the Methodist Church parlors. About 125 guests attended a three course dinner prepared by the Merry Workers of the Presbyterian Church and served by twelve Community Club youths. The program featured musical numbers readings and tributes to mothers and daughters by Miss Helen Huston and Mrs Handel Collier.
