Representatives from Aurora Stromsburg Osceola Central City Shelby Utica Geneva and York met in York to form the Cornhusker League. H C Duncan was named president Clarence Mitchell vice president and Chas Bradwell secretary. Directors join from each town with a 21 game schedule set from May 5 to Sept 8. A $50 deposit per town to ensure completion and a $15 fine for no shows. Admission set at 50 cents adults 25 cents youths with the league absorbing the tax.

More than forty Catholic families in Osceola and nearby signed a petition for a new parish. Approved by Rt. Rev. Rural Schoolteacher Attacked by German Police Dog
Mrs. John Miller, Riv erside School teacher, was wounded in a dog attack in the schoolyard. Neighbor Mrs. John Stohl aided in the effort, and two pupils were injured. The dog belonged to George Reed. it was shot and its head sent to Lincoln labs where rabies testing could not be completed.

Pegors Wright Nuptials Tie Two Minnesota Families
Miss Clarice Maxine Pegors of St. Paul and Merlin E. Wright of Osceola were married in a candlelight ceremony at Nashville Baptist Church Truman Minn on Saturday March 27. The bride trained as a nurse at Mounds Hospital St. Paul and is daughter of Mrs Richard Pegers. The groom son of Mr and Mrs Wm Wright graduated Polk High School in 1938 served in the Navy three years two in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in February. After a short trip to Nebraska the couple will farm in Minnesota and he will attend electricians school this fall.
