Enrolment and Fly-up Held For Orono Brownies Guides
The Orono Girl Guides and Brownies held enrolment and fly-up services at the Orono United Church Sunday School auditorium. Brown Owl Joyce Simpson enrolled five non-Brownies to the pack and seven girls into the Girl Guide Company. Beverley Tennant praised for perfect three year attendance. various proficiency badges awarded. two Brownie packs formed. new Brown Owl Mrs Lorna Atkins welcomed.

A week ago Saturday the Sunday School class taught by Mrs. Arnold Wallace hosted a surprise party at Orono Community Park. Children arranged activities, swimming, games, and lunch while presenting a glass dish in appreciation of her work and care.

U C W Unit 1 Holds June Meeting at Kay Chapman Home
The June gathering of U C W Unit 1 met at Mrs Kay Chapman’s home with 12 ladies present. Marjorie Best led devotionals and Mary Berry read scripture while Marjorie Best gave a meditation. The unit plans July and August meetings and notes the resignation of Mary Lou McGee who moves to Sussex.

Unit 2 O C W Unit held its June meeting on Tuesday June 5 at the home of Mrs M Tamblyn. The opening included worship with a Song of Solomon passage and a prayer. Minutes were read and approved with a treasurer’s report. Roll call showed 17 present. visits were counted.
