Horse and carriage stolen from DeWitt Green in Chester
A horse and carriage were taken between 10 and 2 Friday night from under the American House shed in Chester. The horse was recovered the next morning in Goshen, where a member of the Horse Thief Society found it tied under a shed. It is believed Goshen’s colored residents who attended the colored ball may have been involved.
