The 20th annual closing exercises at St Joseph's parochial school were held in St Joseph's Hall with Rev Dean MocClincy and Rev Father Daeside McWilliams orchestra providing music. A northbound C and W train No. 3 wrecked at White House Curve a mile north of Livingston Manor at about 4 oclock Friday afternoon. Engineer Reuven VanDemark and Fireman Lester Dougherty were killed. conductor Arthur Jones led the train. Eleven other passengers survived as wreckage scattered along the embankment. the scene prompted rapid rescue and recovery efforts by responders from Livingston Manor and surrounding towns.
