Pleaded Guilty In Adultery Case At Police Court
Kate Maloney pled guilty to adultery after testimony by J C Brunt of the Oriental Hotel and Chief McCoach. Recorder Thompson sent her to Kings County Penitentiary for five months. Peter Culmine, arraigned on non support, pleaded guilty to adultery and drew six months in prison. Non support remains pending. Culmine faced three children, and police found a dirk in his bed. He had £10 in his pocketbook.

Car strikes teen in Newburgh street scene

Five Train Riders Before Recorder
Five train riders were arraigned before Recorder Thompson Tuesday morning. Stanley Paine, 25, a painter, had over $31 on him and was fined five dollars or five days in jail. he paid the fine. George William, with Paine, had 20 cents and was discharged. Three Oswego youths, 18 and with 37.50 among them, were discharged. detectives were told to return them to the station and buy tickets home. The recorder suggested they walk the rest of the way.

Dayton Becomes Youngest Policeman Appointee
Frank H. Deston elected Monday night by the Common Council as police constable, becoming the force’s youngest appointee under 23. Engine 44 of the O and W Railroad, wrecked at Livingstone Manor on Friday, was moved to the city on Monday. Damaged boiler and main mechanisms, wheels and fittings harmed, but federal parts uninjured.
