Canoe Theft Suspects Arrested in Port Jervis Case
William C. Van Gordon of Godeffroy and Friend Lesch of Port Jervis, aged 22 and 20, were jailed on grand larceny charges after police traced a stolen canoe and camping outfit from a camp at Cuddebackville. The duo were arraigned in Port Jervis with Leach pleading guilty and Van Gordon denying the charge, held on $500 bail. Bail Denied in Child Assault Trial in Newburgh
Attorney Wallace asked Judge Seeger to set bail for Frank Schipani also known as Steapike after a jury disagreed on the charge of criminal assault against seven year old Gladys Thornton. Bail fixed at 5000 dollars as the defendant cannot raise more than two to three thousand. He remained in jail pending a new trial likely during the week of November 28 at the Orange County Court in Newburgh.

Morison and AT and T Settlement Ends Nine Year Case
The Morison suit against the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, filed October 24, 1907, was settled out of court. Trials in Sullivan County previously awarded verdicts to both plaintiff and defendant as each side claimed timber rights and damage to Morison property in Bethel. Runaway Horses Cause City Wide Alarm
