At the Common Council meeting on June 14 the fire chief's report for 1908 09 is presented. The year ending May 1 1909 totals 13313.88 in fire loss with 10213.98 insured and pad. Net loss 3100 after adjustments. 37 alarms 24 box 33 still. 2193 blows on the fire bell. Prior year losses include 24908.22 in 1907 08 and 97000.78 earlier. Department cost 8604.04.

Annual Outing of Historical Club to Ettenville
The Historical Club held its annual outing on Thursday afternoon June 3. Members traveled from Middletown to Ettenville via O W Railroad. Gerry’s Dairy Slaughtered After Tuberculosis Tests
At Gerry farm in Lake Delaware, Delaware County, twenty cows were slaughtered after tests showed tuberculosis. The tests were conducted for proof of disease by Dr. W Runge of Newark, New Jersey, despite the herd’s prime appearance. Seven cows and over thirty young stock were spared as sound.

Ennis and Stoppani Plan Approved in Creditors Meeting
