M H S Wins Track Meet At Gooshen Driving Park
Middletown High School won the thirteenth Orange County meet with 69 points to lead six other schools at Goshen Driving Park Saturday afternoon. Newburgh was a distant second with 44 points led by William L. Tighe who won the individual cup for the second time. Gibbs and Burhans set marks in hurdles and the mile relay team set a new meet record in 3 minutes 42 1 2 seconds.

Newburgh Hosts Narrow Interscholastic Meet With Two Teams
Only two teams entered the event held in Newburgh. Middletown entered two athletes in every event and scored in all but the 440 yard dash. Burhans and B nde saved for the 60 and 220 yard dashes as officials and judges detailed the day’s arrangements amid delays. The County Association managed the meet with Middletown in charge of arrangements and the 1919 meet may return to the old fair grounds track in the city. Officers for 1908-1909 included President Francis J. Taffany and Secretary Vincent Everitt with E M Massee as treasurer.

Procession of Autos Through City After Holiday
Several hundred automobiles of varying kinds passed through the city from Saturday morning until Monday night. Auto owners from upstate and nearby towns took advantage of a three day holiday for a spin, with many spending the vacation with relatives and friends. Motorcycles were also seen on the streets and cars parked at hotels catered meals and dances.
