Chapman projects reshape Old Towne Orange area
Historic preservationists warn Chapman construction will disrupt residents as the university advances a film school campus expansion. Plans include a 149000 square foot science building on Center Street plus 145000 square feet of parking, a Glassell Street arts center opening in December 2015, a 1100 seat concert hall, and public meetings in August to discuss raising the student cap from 8700 to 1650.

Chapman Projects But Pollution Delays Cypress Street Plans
Chapman University outlines seven tennis courts on a polluted Cypress Street site and a 400 dorm plan on the former parking lot. Legal action looms as university officials sue ex-owners in federal court ahead of a February 2015 trial. Also moving forward are Chapman Studios West with a 900 square foot screening room and a 6,640 square foot sound stage, plus a new 357 space parking structure opened near Maple Avenue in February.
