Town board closes deal for this grounds area south of town and west of the grove, purchasing about twenty five acres from Abe Pioff with five more acres optional. The grove and adjoining land will become a public park once arrangements are made.
Mrs Eph Dollins died yesterday at eleven o clock after a months long illness. She was about sixty years old and moved here with her husband from Johnson South. The burial arrangements are being made and the family asks for quiet and respect.
Sometime during the night Friday the Rinora slus store of J F L Danner was broken into and a small lot of valuables taken. Thieves secured two watches and a small amount of change left in the money drawer. Entrance was gained through the front door. No clue to the thieves has been obtained.
Ss Ribble Sears and wife of near Odon passed through here Monday. Aden West all of Burns City was on our streets Monday. J. L. Hesselman of Odon passed through here Sunday. George Bolt of near Burns City passed through here Monday. James Richardson, D. B. Ogden and Abe Hasler of Scotland were in this vicinity Monday viewing out a new towel. Mr. Bickner of Robinson moved to the Lutes farm last week. Several in this vicinity went to Burns City Monday for fertilizer. Ed Hubbard sold young cattle to Frances Siis of Odon Tuesday. Mel Shivel and wife of Odon passed through here Wednesday.
Sunday school at 9 50 a m led by Joe Callusion superintendent with 10 30 a m sermon titled Christians Resources Junior and 2 00 p m program led by Mrs T Mount superintendent. Evening service at 7 30 p m sermon False and True Hope. Choir practice Wednesdays and Senior Endeavor Thursdays. All invited. C M Day Pastor.

References to Miss Enid Gore Miss Beatrice Hay Mrs Mary Lacy Miss Lena Morgan Miss Jennie Laughlin and others visit towns and shops while Rexall stores offer powders toothbrushes chamois and creams. several residents travel to Washington Decatur and Vincennes for visits and events.
Indiana marks Fire Prevention Day with Governor Alarshall proclamations urging residents to prepare for winter. The Indianapolis Parade Association notes the day and urges cleaning premises of trash and combustibles while State Superintendent Greathouse plans school instruction on fire safety.
Nathan C. Dixon of Quintun sues Damares Rezia Overton in circuit court claiming a car load of baled hay sold for 16 per ton was rotten and musty. After a disputed delivery and settlement aimed at accepting only good hay, Dixon contends the entire lot was spoiled and seeks 60 in damages.
A Holts family reunion gathered Wednesday northeast of Burns City at Henry Kott’s cave homestead where early settlers lived. Members enjoyed a large dinner and baskets of food as relatives posed for photos at the historic rock dwelling. Several locals attended.
