The Harman car ran into a ditch on Lower Plainville road last Sunday evening near the Brown home. Mrs Harman suffered facial cuts and a lacerated finger while Mrs Neersmer and Mr Harman had minor injuries. the car overturned and was left roadside. The party was taken to Washington in another vehicle and the Harman car was retrieved next morning.
A team of horses hitched to a bale load backed the wagon through the white glass front of Poindexter and Wilson's furniture store Saturday evening. Albert Kinnaman drove the team which had been left unhitched in front of the store. The wagon crossed the sidewalk and broke the plate glass, with damage estimated at about $30.

Paul Chaney son of Mr and Mrs Sam Chaney of Jasonville dies at 1 year 9 months and 15 days. Funeral held Thursday at 2 30 at home with a Christian minister officiating. He is survived by his father mother and sister Madge.
Messick, oldest son of Mr and Mrs George Messick of South Sycamore street, wed Rosa Esther Thompson, daughter of John H Thompson of Montgomery, at three o clock Monday afternoon in the office of Mayor McCarty in Washington. The couple will reside in Montgomery where Mr Messick is employed.
The Washington Greys were routed by Princeton last Sunday as the Tigers exploited Sisson's slants and hammered the ball. Princeton aims for a rematch when they return to Washington Sunday.
The Christian Church invites members to an evening Christian Endeavor meeting Thursday at 7 30 with the subject Ideal Christianity. Choir practice Friday at 7 30. Bible School Sunday at 9 30 a m describes the teaching department of the church. Preaching both morning and evening. Make your church membership stand for something.
W. L. Jackson of Washington a well known citizen and businessman died at his home last Tuesday morning from throat cancer.
Davis, an 83 year old Sugarland farmer, died last Monday afternoon when a scaffold collapsed while he worked on ash. He fell 32 feet, struck his head and shoulder, and died soon after. He leaves a wife and three children.
City schools started Monday with about 260 in grades and 81 in high school. The State Superintendent lauds the curriculum as exceptionally strong. Staff assignments include Supt Gilaspie English and bookkeeping, Willemar math and science, Miss Cole Latin and domestic arts, Slaven history and manual training, and several teachers for 3rd to 8th grades.
Indianapolis Mayor Shank spent about four hours last Tuesday afternoon patrolling for speeders and arrested three drivers. Frank Garten, driving his father’s car to the fair grounds, and Fred Cline plus Fred Gall of Albert Gall and Co. were taken in but released under bond.

The Y M C A met on Tuesday for an all day picnic at Mr and Mrs Chas Monant home. About thirty five attended. Husbands of members joined the event and helped with the meal. A splendid dinner and supper were served and Mrs Mount was praised as an ideal hostess.
An all day Sunday school picnic will be held in the grove one half mile southwest of Elnora on Saturday September 18 by the M. E. Sunday school of Elnora. A good program has been arranged and a splendid time is expected. Everyone is invited to attend.
