Mabel Pierce a 10 year old from Indianapolis fell from the Whitman Ferry near Elnora and drowned in White River. Grandfather James Harper keeper of the ferry, neighbors and rescuers searched through Sunday and Monday, using dynamite and a net, until the body was found Tuesday morning 25 feet deep. Coroner Poindexter ruled accidental drowning. Burial planned in Indianapolis. mother seriously affected by shock.

Boy Scouts Head to Trinity Springs on Camp Trip

Brick Layer Frank Jacobs Injured In Wall Collapse
Frank Jacobs who supervised brick work for a new Christian church was seriously hurt when a wall section collapsed onto his scaffolding. He fell from the second story, struck a raised roof, and sustained a wrenched back and bruises. Assistants escaped through windows as the scaffold gave way. He received medical care at home and was expected to recover. The incident occurred during construction of an extension from the main wall.

First Concert by Great White Band Draws Partial Attendance

William Cummings Injured Falling From Roof
Wm. Cummings of Elnora was seriously injured last Friday afternoon when he fell from a building roof while painting it. He broke his right leg and tore ligaments in both feet after sliding down and striking the ground. He received medical attention from Dr. DeMotte and was taken to his home. The injury is painful and unlikely to heal rapidly, though he is progressing as well as could be expected.
