Boon Cox Passes Away In Odon After Illness
Boone Cox, carpenter and longtime Odon resident, died Tuesday morning at his East Main home after months of illness from anemia. Born September 11, 1875 at Mt. Olive, he married Lillie Sommers in 1912 and had one infant son who died. He leaves his wife, his father, three brothers, a half sister, and his grandmother. Funeral services were held at the Christian church with lodge burial at Walnut Hill.

George Ellis Injured in Washington Township Runaway
Washington township farmer George Ellis suffered painful injuries when his wagon ran away on Tuesday morning on east Main street. The frightened team spurred the wagon into a collision with a fire plug at east Main and Eleventh streets, throwing Ellis to the brick street and causing severe bruises.

Men Charged in Cattle Theft Case
Josh Harrison and James Sanders faced a preliminary hearing in circuit court on grand larceny charges for stealing six head of cattle from John Billings east of Washington. Man in Washington shoots self over financial troubles
John W. Hill attempted suicide at his Washington home by firing through his left breast Tuesday night. He was intoxicated and reportedly distressed by money problems. He is in critical condition at the county hospital after Mrs. Hill summoned aid. the bullet neared the heart and the bullet’s path and lodged position remain undetermined. Hill had worked as a tar helper, bartender, and had prior business failures, including clothing and real estate ventures. He is about thirty five.
