Centennial Fox Hunters Meet a Celebration of Tradition

The Centennial Celebration in Washington on Friday drew thousands from Daviess and neighboring counties. A two mile parade had about 3,500 participants, with Miss Daviess impersonated by Bernice Sims. Relic displays highlighted pioneer life, and Madison township showcased prized artifacts. The Southern Indiana Fox Hunters Association meeting at Mineral City followed, featuring field trials, camping, and the Big Eats feast for hundreds.

Goodrich Campaign Stop In Elnora And Plainville

Jas P. Goodrich republican candidate for governor spoke to a good crowd in Elnora from an auto at Main and Odon Streets with music by the S I Band and Odon Drum Corps. He then addressed Plainville and later Washington on the same day during the tour.

Autos Collide Near Goshorn School House

A Ford touring car driven by Caleb O'Dell collided with an Overland driven by John Standiford near the Goshorn school house on Monday night. Both cars were moving slowly and damages were slight. O'Dell was en route to Washington to attend a Freeman Fife and Drum band event for the Republican meeting.

United Drug Co Buys Toothbrushes From Japan

The United Drug Co of Boston bought 200000 dollars worth of toothbrushes from a Japanese firm by cable. Prices rose twenty percent shortly after, adding about 40000 dollars to the cost. Rexall manager G H Gipatrick, a stockholder, spent two days this week with several purchasing agents amid uncertainty on future supply for Rexall’s eight thousand stores.
