Odor town trustees met in the Bennett Laughlin building for a routine monthly session. No bids were received for five crossings, so the board deferred construction until next spring and adjourned after approving several claims including sewer and lighting services and labor payments.
Residents attend rallies and celebrations in nearby towns. Mrs. J Myers returns to Cincinnati after visiting relatives. families from the area attend the Centennial Celebration at Elnora. A Southern Indiana Fox Hunters Association meeting draws attendees near Peeswood Green County. Rexall Store manager G H Gilpatrick attends the State Rexall Meeting in Indianapolis.
Star Theater presents The Mysteries of Myra a complete program featuring the hypnostism themed photo play The Grip of Evil sixth episode Hypocrites with Jackie Saunders and Roeland Bottomley a Pathe newsreel a new cartoon, Mannheit Male Quartet and a family friendly comedy. Show starts 7 15 pm with 5c general and 1c children admission.
Troop No. 1 met for a called practice meeting amid lively discussion on biweekly gatherings. Several boys passed the second class test and the initiatory ceremony, becoming second class scouts and one advancing toward Tenderfeet as a Tenderfest Scout.
Centennial today in Daviess County draws large crowds to Washington for a free all day celebration. A grand parade forms at the courthouse at 10 am and moves through Walnut Meridian Main Seventh streets to the park. The day includes a school pageant and historical film showings at the Grand Opera House from 12:50 pm to 1 am with free admission.
Caullop, a democratic candidate for congress, spoke to a capacity audience at the Star Theater last Friday. The S. Lo Band provided music and played briefly in the theater before the speaking. Short speeches were delivered by Judde Ogden Flaven Seal and John Dennigan amid notable enthusiasm.

A local firm, H Y Merrill, won the bid to install the American Ideal Steam Heating System for the new Sunset Church under construction. The No 366 boiler will serve 21 radiators totaling 1400 feet of radiation, with Merrill’s bid of $1068 09 the lowest among several bids.
The annual reunion of the 80th Indiana Volunteer Civil War veterans met in Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday. An evening program featured music from mixed chorus and a reading of Eckley Thrunters poem We the 60th in the foe by Miss Harriet Eleanor Cook. New officers were James Watson president Sam Hardgrave secretary John Mallett Worthington treasurer. Next meeting set for October near Critinia, with XII War history highlighted.
Miss Margaret Merle Dobbins and Mr. Villiers Thomas Barker were married at the Dobbins home in Madison township. Rev. Perry Key presided. Attendants were John Richardson and Freida Stone. A luncheon followed. The couple plans to live on a farm in Northern Madison township. Wednesday marked the bride’s parents 26th anniversary.
Fred Watson of this city wed Miss Blanche Thompson of Montgomery last Tuesday at Lawrenceville. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Thompson of Montgomery, formerly worked at the Flint Kyle telephone exchange. He is a brick mason, son of Mr and Mrs Jas Watson of this city.
Ralesville hosts a week of political activity with Democrats led by Vic Cullop and Republicans led by Oscar Bland. A Saturday rally featured the S. I Band and drum corps, plus a banquet by the Ladies' Aid Society of the M. E. Church on the school campus.
A wedding occurred last Tuesday uniting Aired Pearson and Miss Lola Roach near Newberry with Rev. Ernest Roberts officiating. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jas Roach, is from a prosperous farming family on Aiud Pike and Nat.
Charles W. Pavior administrator for the estate of Vaylor Deceased has filed for final settlement in the Daviess Circuit Court. The court fixes November 21 for a hearing. Heirs and interested parties must appear to show cause or prove heirship and claims. E. T. Laughlin attorney.
