Announcements list the wedding of Miss Ola Morison of Paris to Walter Danner of Terre Haute. The ceremony will take place at the bride’s home at noon October 18. Both formerly lived in Odon. the bride’s father Alf Morison once ran a business here.
The town board met in regular session at Benne and Laughlin Tuesday night to settle the month's business. Only two claims were allowed: Indian Power and Water Co for 573.65 and Maorshais Salary for ATS ong.
Pleasant Hill residents Miro and Mrs J W Pershing with family plus Dwight spent Sunday at M L Mumaw’s. Arford family visited Charles Freed. Rev Roberts and wife visited Rev John Wimkledeek. Mrs Ear Freed and others attended. W Pershing’s guests included Mr and Mrs Perry Russell and Rev Roberts.

JC Flint and family visited Camp Taylor in Kentucky after a southern Indiana trip. They praised the Daviess County boys for cleanliness and contentment, noting good drainage and well-kept barracks. The group reported uniforms pending issue and that boys enjoyed news from home and the Journal.

The town faces a looming choice as two Trustees plus Clerk and Treasurer must be elected. No candidates or convention plans have emerged amid war attention and general indifference, leaving officials possibly to hold over or for new tickets to be organized.
Walter Chestnut went to Elnora on Wednesday and Edd Burton to Cannelsburg on Friday. Pearl Chestnut spent Friday with Mrs. Ben Chestnut of the Marsh. Several Chestnut relatives plus others visited, stayed or moved in nearby and many spent Sunday with family.
The 80th Indiana Infantry reunion gathered in the city Monday and Tuesday with five companies represented. Officers elected include Join Kellams as president, Frank Culbertson as vice president, John Mallett as treasurer, and Samuel Hargrove as secretary. A basket dinner of about 225 guests and the regimental poem Was the 80th in the Fight were highlights. next reunion will be at Vincennes.
A late night tale follows a man returning home to find an intruder. He captures the visitor, realizes the supposed German spy is actually a carrier of wisdom, and decides to release the prisoner after boxing him for delivery. The prisoner ends up as a barn owl shipped in a box labeled Indiana Power and Water Co.

Fred Watson formerly of this city now living in Montgomery was badly hurt last Monday when he fell about seventeen feet from a mine tipple while weighing coal. He sustained two broken ribs a bruised back and severe leg bruising. He is recovering at home with improving condition and no complications expected in a few weeks.
Mrs. A. C. Kirstein of Greenville Ills lauds Chamberlain's Cough Remedy as a quick cure for colds and bronchial troubles after years of use in her family. The product is advertised as the most reliable cough medicine and is available at the Odon Drug Co.
Word comes of the death of Mrs. Victor Boyd in a Chicago hospital. She died of tuberculosis after a year of ill health. Mrs. Boyd, formerly of this city, had just returned to Chicago about a month ago. Her husband Victor Boyd died here two months earlier.
A letter from Camp Shelby near Hattiesburg describes a huge training camp with over 3 000 laborers and 1 000 buildings capable of housing 100 000 men. The piece covers climate, drill hours, meals, entertainment including a regimental band and YMCA services, vaudeville shows, a river with alligators and rattlesnakes, sports, and curfew at 8 pm.
