Mrs A M Keck Dies After Illness In City

Hattye Russell Keck wife of A M Keck died at her Center street home from pernicious anaemia after years of illness. Born May 1 1869 near Mitchell she taught in Lawrence and Orange counties and married A M Keck on July 3 1897. She joined the Christian Church in 1896 and was active in the Tribe of Ben Hur and Pythian Sisters. Funeral at the Christian church at 10 AM with Rev A C Trusty and Rev C H Buchanan. burial Walnut Hill.

Madison Township Sunday School Convention Draws 500

A large crowd gathered at the Christian church for a full day convention of the Madison Township Sunday School Association. Over five hundred attendees joined a union school, with a noon meal and a Red Cross collection, plus an evening program featuring sermons, music, and readings.

Sodiers Reunion for 80th Indiana Infantry Held Next Week

The 80th Indiana Infantry survivors hold their annual reunion in this city on Monday and Tuesday at the U B church. A basket dinner for soldiers families widows and children is slated for Tuesday noon. Souvenir programs will be distributed and a full program lists greetings prayers readings and music.

Mrs Homer Pershing returned from Sunday School to a surprise birthday gathering at her home with friends and relatives sharing a sumptuous dinner and best wishes for many more birthdays. Bee Lodge of Plainville held a roll call meeting with Edtwardsport Plainville and Bicknell lodges performing initiatory degrees followed by a banquet in the M W A hall. Plainville men were noted as fine hosts.

Youngster Crushed by Farm Trailer Near Dysart

Roscoe James Feller six year old son of Mr and Mrs Robert Feller of the Mehabliaus farm near Dysart died instantly when he fell beneath the wheels of a cement truck trailer while riding on the tongue. Ed Rife and Guy Imler unaware of the children stopped the truck and a coroner was notified. Funeral held at the Evangelical church in Dysart.

Soldiers Leave Wednesday in Madison County Detachment

Fifty men depart from Madison county for Washington in the second increment. A noon Wednesday demonstration in the county seat echoed the turnout at the first detachment. Local volunteers Don Hayes Leamon Chestnut and Earl Stine were among the departing group. The sendoff included a Tuesday evening gathering a Grand Hotel supper and a street concert by the S I Band followed by Rev Ernest Roberts urging continued community support.
