Vincennes Fire Destroys Lyons Company Stock and Building
A Saturday afternoon blaze in Vincennes destroyed the dry goods and clothing stock of the 8. & I. Lyons Company. The fire began in the basement, likely from a small electric motor used for the cash system. Stock valued at 60,000 with 45,000 insured. Building owned by Wm. Ewing insured at 20,000.

Montgomery Man Fined in Street Assault Case
Thomas Melton was fined one dollar and costs in Squire Kellam's court after being charged with assault and battery by John Matthews.
