In Epsom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T C Myers the couple Lola Anice Myers and Charles Everitt Miller were married before about fifty guests. Elder C H Buchanan officiated with Arlie Myers as music. The bride is organist for Epsom Christian Church. the groom teaches in Bogard township. They will reside in Cornettsville.

Taft and Watson Visit George Ade at Hazelden Farm

William H. Taft and James S. Watson visited Hazelden Farm, George Ade’s country home near Brook Indiana. The visit sparked a Newton county holiday with thousands invited to attend, transported by hay wagons from nearby farms. The event reportedly cost Ade about $5000.

Vincennes Fire Destroys Lyons Company Stock and Building

A Saturday afternoon blaze in Vincennes destroyed the dry goods and clothing stock of the 8. & I. Lyons Company. The fire began in the basement, likely from a small electric motor used for the cash system. Stock valued at 60,000 with 45,000 insured. Building owned by Wm. Ewing insured at 20,000.

Montgomery Man Fined in Street Assault Case

Thomas Melton was fined one dollar and costs in Squire Kellam's court after being charged with assault and battery by John Matthews. Matthews showed a black eye and a forehead bruise from a fight on Montgomery streets last Saturday, with a two stitch gash over his left eye. Matthews says brass knuckles were used. Melton says only a fist.

Bonhams Sued Over Accounting in Daviess Court

Barnett & Sons and Emvery Meno sue Cliff O Bonham and Zed A Bonham in Daviess circuit court seeking an accounting and alleging due sum of 261.25. The filing notes defendants formerly ran an undertaking business in Washington and seeks restitution.
