Clarence Kinnaman Weds Florence Newkirk at Fairview Church

Clarence C Kinnaman and Florence Newkirk of Lawrence county were married at Fairview church near Sparkaville Tuesday at seven o clock. The ceremony drew friends and relatives and refreshments followed at the bride's home. The groom, a 1906 Odon High School graduate, plans to establish a home on a farm in Illinois.

Second Annual Fruit Show at Purdue University

Arrangements are complete for Purdue University hosting the Second Annual Fruit Show during the Farmers' Short Course week January 11 to 16, 1969. It is co sponsored by the Indiana Horticultural Society and the University Horticultural Department with a premium list over 300 dollars. Entries must be grown by the exhibitor and details are available from C G Woodbury.

New Lodge At Trinity Springs Instituted For Thanksgiving

A new Odd Fellows lodge will be instituted at Trinity Springs on Thanksgiving afternoon and night. A petition is circulating and enough applicants have signed to ensure the institution. Degree work will be performed by lodges from Loogootee Shoals Odon and Burns City. A big time is anticipated.

Mrs Hewitt Wallick Injured Milking unruly Cow

Mrs Hewitt Wallick wife of a prominent east town farmer was badly hurt at her home early Wednesday while milking an unruly cow. She was knocked down and her leg broken as the animal stepped on her. Dr Rankin and DeMotte attended. recovery will be lengthy but not life threatening due to her age.

John O'Donald Dies of Typhoid at 27

John O'Donald 27 died of typhoid fever at his Washington home after returning from Petersburg where he had worked as a printer. Born in Scotland Greene county he had lived in Odon and Washington. Survived by parents two sisters Stella and Beryl and three brothers Ray George Dale. Burial in Scotland cemetery following funeral at Washington residence.

Bloomfield High Notes Highlight Student Visits

Several students were absent Monday as Willie Miller and Schuyler Ketchem visited the Bloomfield high school Friday. Orval Morrison made a short Monday afternoon stop. Miss Josephine Lucas from Indian Springs attends here. Ollie Daal in the senior class heard Prof. Trueblood's class Monday while Trueblood attended his aunt's funeral at Eaglesville. Seniors took an English classics exam Wednesday. Roy R. Winklepleck hosted the Junior class Thursday evening. Sophomores held caucus meetings in the assembly room this week.

United effort urged for new train to Odon Indiana

A letter urges extending an extra passenger train from Linton to Terre Haute to reach Odon. The writer argues traffic from Odon and intermediate towns could justify service and asks local residents to petition and present facts to Receiver M. J. Carpenter to gain support.

Hunting Tale Reports Four Foot Rattlesnake Kill

W R O Dell and B Pershing while hunting in Martin County killed a rattlesnake several days ago that measured four feet in length and bore eight rattlers.
