President Taft proclaims Thanksgiving on November 28 1912 praising God for blessings and urging nationwide observance. The proclamation notes a peaceful prosperous year with strong self government and asks citizens to join in prayer and gratitude in Washington.
All candidates from all parties must file a full itemized expense statement by November 23. The statement must be written in duplicate and detail all funds and promises used to aid or promote the nomination and election. Violators face misdemeanor penalties including fines from 300 to 2000 dollars and up to one year in jail.
Miss Elena Litherland celebrated her sixteenth birthday Saturday night November 9 at her Marsh home. Friends gathered for games and a luncheon with cake, pickles, rapes, and apples. Flavian A. Seal prosecuting attorney was informed that Mattingly and Myers attorneys for Thomas M. Nugent who has been accused of a shortage as county auditor have proposed a settlement. Seal declined to specify the proposal but said it had been sent to Thomas M. Honan attorney general whose future action depends on the attorney general's advice.
Hasler and family started their household effects overland to Elnora where Mr Hasler bought a residence and will make their home. They left in their automobile after arriving from Greene county a few years ago when Mr Hasler purchased the Stoy farm at Hindostan and lived on the Claris farms near town. They are well liked and friends regret their removal from the city.
Pauline Cox seven year old daughter of Ed Cox died at her home two miles north of Elnora after a short illness of acute laryngitis. Funeral services were held Monday with burial in the cemetery at Cornettsville.
Farlen Be Laughlin of Oden passed through here Saturday. Several visitors attended Mt Olive Church on Sunday, including Summervillys from Burns City and M B Ledgerwood with family. Dem Tote reward claim noted, plus moving plans for Jno Hart of Epsom to Wilson farm.

The Odon light plant was sold at a receivers sale Saturday to CG N Murphy of Morgantown, the plant’s heaviest stockholder and mortgage holder. The outfit sold for 1200 dollars with Attorney McNutt handling the auction and no other bids. Murphy has not decided whether to relocate the plant near the railroad yard or construct a new extended facility to improve service.

Francis Brown and Mrs Mary Isabel Sears wed at the bride's home Sunday afternoon at two o clock. Rev C H Buchanan conducted the ceremony in front of friends. The bride has lived here three years and the groom is a farmer from Van Buren township. They will reside on a Van Buren township farm about six miles away. A Friday night bridal shower honored the bride with many useful presents.
To the citizens of Odon, all accounts owed to the Odon Light & Power Company may be assigned to Tim Murphy after a mortgage sale on the date. Murphy promises to restore the plant and provide good service, asking for patience and goodwill from townspeople.

The local G A R post has received 190 in Confederate bills, attractive war souvenirs. Washington has distributed these sums to posts nationwide via the Secretary of the Interior. Denominations include 5 10 20 and 50 dollars likely to be framed as mementos. The post met Saturday to decide how to dispose of the funds.
Wayne Melcheimer eight year old son of Ralph Melscheimer of ElNora died Tuesday afternoon of throat trouble after a week of illness. Funeral held at two at residence with burial at Fairview cemetery.
