Aging resident Thomas Boyd dies at 80 in Daviess County
Thomas Boyd, a well known local farmer born in 1835 in Ohio, died of cancer at his Boyd homestead north west of the city. He lived much of his life in Daviess county and leaves six children, two surviving Issac Boyd near Epsom and Mrs. S L Tood north of Odon. Funeral at Good Hope church at 10 15 this morning with Rev Trowbridge and Rev Roberts, burial Walnut Hill.

Oliver O Laughlin formerly of this place will become cashier of the Citizens State Bank of Orleans Dec ist. He succeeds P Collins who resigned on account of ill health. Mr Laughlin was cashier of the New St Bernice Bank until a few months ago.

Esrom Redmon Dies at West Octon After Illness
Esrom Redmon an early resident of the city died at his home in west Octon yesterday morning due to old age and a parasitic stroke. Born in 1830 in Columbiana Ohio he was 85. Surviving children include Mrs. L N Dunlap Mrs A W Caughey Geo Redmon J H Redmon Chas H Redmon and Earl Redmon. Burial at Walnut Hill follows funeral at Good Hope Church with Rev. Trowbridge officiating.

Louis Burris a well known Daviess County resident about fifty years old died Friday morning at his Washington home after a long tuberculosis battle. He moved from Van Buren township twelve years ago and worked in the B and O Southwestern railway cabinet department since, except for a year in the west. Survived by a wife and nephew Stanton Burris. Funeral at St Simon's church Monday at 8 am with burial in St Joseph's cemetery Martin County.

Flint-Kyle Telephone heads in town car collision
J G Flint proprietor of the Flint Kyle Telephone System and wife were in an accident on Montgomery road near St Michaels church last Thursday evening. Mrs Flint had minor cuts and bruises while Hiram Palmer of Washington suffered a broken hand. No speed was cited and both cars were badly damaged as Wr Flint and Palmer disputed who would turn. County surveyor Wm Shank transported the Washington party home.

Mrs Elizabeth Arford widow of Wim Arford Civil War veteran died at her home in Elnora Friday. Aged sixty five the body was taken to Washington for funeral services from Alva Arford home Sunday. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
