The Kaiser signed an armistice with the Allies at Ho clock with General Foch. hostilities ceased at 2:00. The Allies were advancing on a 150 mile front as Germany faced revolution. News sparked jubilant celebrations with flags, bells, and parades nationwide.
The Red Cross Chapter urges all label recipients to bring unwrapped cartons to the local Red Cross Headquarters on November 16 for inspection and packing. Cartons are available free at Odon Drug Co. for pickup and must be delivered with full packing directions. Completed packages go to County headquarters for shipment overseas on the 18th. Mrs Emona Ketehein of Elnora visited relatives here Wednesday.

A landslide election day produced solid Republican gains statewide and locally. Statewide, Bland led with a vast majority, while Ben Leughi won State Representative in Daviess and Martin counties. Q M Wallick, Geo Dally won as commissioners, eight township trustees elected, ensuring a Republican county superintendent. Harrison, Steele, Barr, Madison, Van Buren, Washington, and Elmore townships all shifted to GOP with scattered independents.
A soldier recalls rapid travel from Douglas to Fort Sam Houston Base Hospital with 75 men to care for influenza patients. He describes transport hurdles, high casualty rates at Camp Travis, motorized units being prepared for overseas deployment, and a thrilling but risky aviation encounter with the Prince of Denmark observing and riding in a plane.
Mrs. Thomas Faith hosted Sunday guests including Mrs. Alfred Myers at Epsom and Mrs. Mary Wadsworth visited her mother Mrs. Thomas Riggins. Numerous calls and visits across the community feature the Faith Smiley Burch and Riggins families and Willow Lick householders.
The residence of Earl Kelsey five miles southwest of town burned last Sunday morning along with outbuildings and goods. Fire origin unknown but blamed on a faulty flue or creosote. The family, tending chores at a barn nearby, saw flames as they reached the house. Mr Kelsey was scorched trying to enter. About $200 in currency and securities were lost. partial insurance coverage.
The elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bunch celebrated his seventh birthday yesterday afternoon at their Center street home. About fifteen young friends joined in games and refreshments before leaving at four o clock, wishing him many happy returns.
Lieut. S. E Bowman reports his safe arrival overseas. N. F. Barkley made a business trip to Linton Wednesday.
Hazel Heshelman, 13, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Heshelman, died Saturday morning from incipient pneumonia caused by Spanish influenza. Formerly of this community, she moved with her family to Ridge Farm Illinois, where she died previously. Survived by father, mother, and sister Flossie. Body shipped here arriving Tuesday at 2 42 PM. Funeral held Wednesday at 11 AM at home with Rev Geo Smith. Burial in Mr Olive cemetery.
RAGLESVILLE reports Zigler and daughter passed through en route to Odon. Mrs. Harris visiting relatives near here heads to Cannelburg for a few days before returning to Fort Wayne. St. Mary's folks attend St. Joseph's as public gatherings remain limited in Martin county. People move, guests visit, and many local families host and travel with Halloween goblins noted. Cassell Myers wounded, in hospital, per a card dated September 10.
