Letters From the Boys 4096 Acre Sqdn AE F Sunday Duty

A serviceman writes of light duty at night guarding the office in France. He describes a rainy day, a dinner invitation with a French family near the car line, a ride in a butcher’s cart, and an extended meal with wine. He notes learning French, teaching English, socializing with locals, and plans to return for another dinner amid ongoing postings and uncertain transfer. He mentions a French picnic, a ball team trip, and hopes for a future homecoming with many thoughts on agriculture, barracks life, and winter expectations. He signs off unsettled about return and duties.
