In Odon two well known residents, William Roberts and Miss Kizzie Winklepleck, were married last Wednesday evening at the Methodist parsonage with Rev. Trowbridge officiating. The ceremony was followed by a large family supper at the brides' home.
The Star Theater and Flint-Kyle Telephone Co. arrange to show national election returns on Tuesday night with Western Union Central Union and Flint-Kyle service. Returns start at 7 30 with continuous bulletins, new rapid slides, and a standby comedy picture and musical program. Tickets are limited to 275 and available in advance at Jdon Drug Co.
Last Sunday marked Mrs William Zigler’s 34th birthday with a large gathering of about thirty five friends. They enjoyed a big dinner and a joyful day, and the guests departed in the afternoon wishing her many more happy birthdays.
Margene Strange fifteen months daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Strange of near Burns City died Sunday after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at St Joseph church Monday with Rev Father Huntinford of Loogco tee in charge. Interment was made in St Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs Katherine Kidwell of Martin County dies at age seventy two after a week long illness from pneumonia fever. She leaves three children Dave Chas and Ellen Mattingly from her first marriage to Joseph Mattingly. Funeral held at St Joseph church with burial nearby. Also notes the Oct 8 marriage of Jeannette Ward of Circle Montana to Fritz Massar, ceremony by Rev B F Bean.
The teachers of Qdon and Madi son township returned home Sunday from the State Teachers Association meeting in Indianapolis. It was described as one of the best meetings with nearly all local teachers in attendance. Prof J K McCarter was elected Vice President from the Second District and George L Roberts of Purdue University was elected president.
A massive Democratic rally filled the streets of Madison Town ship last Saturday as Star Theater proved too small. Democratic candidates spoke while the Southern Indiana Band provided music, drawing a sizeable audience despite the venue change.
Notice warns parents that a person under 21 found with cigarettes or papers faces a 25 dollar fine under 1914 law. The Ladies Aid of the Christian church plans its annual bazaar on December 7 and 8. Last weekend Mr and Mrs Mel Cooper and daughter Neilie and Mr and Mrs R F Myers and son Raymond joined Mrs Martha Myers for a trip to West Baden.

Mr and Mrs Pierce McNeely and their children visited his brother Chas McNeely of Spencer who has been in poor health. Mrs Will McNeely accompanied them and Bert Hasler drove them through in his car.
A large crowd roamed the streets on Halloween night and many wore masks. Some outbuildings were overturned with minor damage and articles piled in the public square. Dale Boyd won first prize for best masked skater and Miss Florene Kinneman took second.
A large group of local Republicans traveled to Washington on Tuesday to hear Charles E. Hughes, Republican candidate for President, speak in the afternoon. Several others went to Linton to hear him.

Notable events include Wilbur Evans selling goods Thursday, Abe Chestnut funeral, infant Lish Chestnut ill, and Levi Resler sale representation. Corn shredding active. Washington trip to hear Charles E. Hughes. Kizzie Winklepleck shower hosted by Weslyn class.

Miss Emma Cox formerly of this city married Raroh Gootee at Washington last Saturday evening at eight o'clock. She is the daughter of Thos Cox of Washington who formerly lived here and has many friends. The groom works at the B and O shops in Washington. They will reside in Washington.
The troop meets in regular session led by Rev. Trowbridge in Rev. Colenan’s absence. Scouts pursue first class requirements, needing evidence from parents and officials that they live by the scout laws, facing doubt with discipline and a fighting, undaunted spirit.
About seventy five friends walked to Rev. Chas. Coleman’s Christian Church Monday night and surprised him and his family with an old fashioned donation of food and groceries.
