Dr Culmer Dead After Lunacy and Fall From Window
Dr Stephen Culmer died Saturday at 1 30 a m after a deranged mind and lunacy commission ruled him insane. He leaped from a second story window last week and was injured, with weakened health linked to his death. He was about 52, son of George F Culmer of Odon, longtime clinician in Odon and a Evansville alumnus. He leaves a wife, two daughters Mildred Witchell and Orpha Culmer, living in Missoula, a sister Miss Roose Culmer of Clon, two brothers J C Culmer in Spencer and W W Culmer in Martinsville. Funeral held Sunday at the Culmer home in Odon with Rev Davis. burial in Walnut Hill cemetery. The Bunch hosted a Halloween party at Modern Woodmen Hall with music by Ron Winklepleck and Dave Hayes and a luncheon and car shaped ice cream mold. John M Williams died Saturday in Van Buren township age unknown from parvassis. He was born near Bedford Lawrence county December 7 and moved to Daviess County at age 9. The appellate court affirms Mooreland Rural Telephone Co against Joseph A Mouch ruling the firm cannot remove a residence phone for business use and must treat all subscribers equally.
