The First National Bank of Montgomery will liquidate its business and pay depositors in full while passing out of existence. Directors and stockholders decided on liquidation, with notices to be posted soon. Depositors expected to receive funds in about thirty days as efforts align to close without loss.
John R Walsh, once a millionaire banker and railroad magnate, died Monday at 9 30 from heart disease. He had been recently released from Leavenworth after an eight day parole and his family voiced bitterness toward authorities over the delay. Miss Letha Karr of Washington attended the funeral of her uncle Robt B Williams.
The Vig Jewelry establishment of N H Jepson in Washington highlights 40 years in operation and growth as a premier shop. It offers Watches Clocks Diamonds Fine Jewelry Sterling silver and fine silver plated ware with a policy to pay rail fares for customers buying ten dollars or more.
G H G Patrick proprietor of Rexall Drug Store has built a new paint and oil house behind his store near the Gardner Howard blacksmith shop. The facility will store paints oils and related supplies and serves as headquarters for Williams Brothers painters and paper hangers of the city.
Robert B. Williams a leading Odon druggist died Monday afternoon from typhoid fever after an eleven day illness. Born July 20 1872 he was married to Ota Stuffle and leaves wife two sons Ernest and Beecher, parents and two sisters. Funeral at Eaglesville Raglesville cemetery with Rev. Schoonover and Rev. Todd.
Gold in paying quantities found in Perry township hills near Bedford Indiana. A chemist reported nine dollars in pure gold per ton from ore samples. Twenty tons are loaded for shipment to Omaha for smelting to determine per ton yield. The ore comes from the farm of F. M. Kern.
Dr S O Culmer once declared insane and released earlier leaped from a secondary window at Dicks lodging house on South Spring Street. He fractured his collar bone, was treated by Dr DeMotte, and is reported in critical condition both physically and mentally. He triggered a disturbance, calmed with medicine, then jumped again at about 12:30, found outside.
