Memorial Day Observance by G A R Post in this style

Memorial Day services feature as local G A R Post leads May 25 observances. Veterans from the Grand Army of the Republic Spanish American and World War units assemble at 10 AM to march to Mob church for a Memorial sermon. The day includes services, cemetery decorating at War Hill and a program at the GAR hall with music by Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts, and religious addresses.

Mrs Mary Overton a respected city resident died last Monday from heart disease and other illnesses She was just past seventy and survived by her husband a son Samuel and five grandsons Also two sisters Mrs Aate Ayers and Mrs Sarah Re poss Funeral service was held at the United Brethren Church in Augiesville with burial at Kasesville cemetery.

Death of Ex-Service Man Geo A Bright at County Hospital

Geo A Bright aged about 30 died at County Hospital after a short illness. A native of Epsom he served in the last war and earned an honorable discharge. He married Gladys Haines in 1910 and leaves his wife. funeral services were held at 4:00 today with Rev. Edwin Shake and the American Legion in attendance. Burial at Walnut Hill.

Madison Sunday Schools Hold Twelfth Conven tion

The Madison Sunday Schools community held the twelfth semi annual convention with capacity crowds. Afternoon at Mt Olive church featured Nimrod Slaven and Rev Jones speaking on the Sunday School. Evening at Methodist church heard Rev R T Gwyn urging united effort and plans for a summer picnic and future meetings.
