Memorial Day observance details the G A R will decorate graves with ceremonies. On Memorial Sunday May 27 soldiers from the Grand Army of the Republic Spanish American War and World War II meet at the G A R hall at 1030 AM then march to U B church for a memorial sermon by Rev H D Jones. A Wednesday program includes decoration at Walnut Hill cemetery with readings from General Order No 11 Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and a sermon by Rev Edwin F Shake.

Cordelia Elizabeth Crane longtime Martin county resident dies at home in east Odon following a nine week illness. She was born Aud. 25 1858 in Martin County to Robert and Maria Montgomery and was over 64. Survived by seven children Henry Crane Storm Lake IA Howard Ray Crane Zola Hamblen Dennison IA Lewis Crane Steele Township Jennie Ketcham Marco IA and Nettie Neal at home. Funeral was held at Burns City Christian church Wednesday at 1 pm with burial in Williams cemetery.

The Rev J F Ohaver a leading Indiana Methodist minister died suddenly at his Evansville home from heart disease. He served six years as Vincennes district superintendent and had led Central church Evansville since September. Buggy overturns injure horse rider near Mt Olive
Gleason Wallick son of Oscar Wallick living about three miles east of town narrowly escaped serious injury Monday when the horse he drove frightened and ran away. The accident occurred near Fred Boyd’s farm east of Mt Olive as the horse was thrown and the buggy overturned. The horse broke its neck and died, while the rider suffered only slight injuries.

Wife of former Madi Son Twp resident ends life
Mrs. Rose Howell age nineteen wife of Richard Howell formerly of this community died by drinking carbolic acid in Indianapolis last Friday May 18. She left home to buy groceries and was found unconscious on the street and died at the city hospital. No motive or domestic trouble reported. Aged Resident Orienna Taylor Dies at Home in Odton
Orienna Allen Taylor aged 93 died Wednesday evening at five after a long decline from complications of diseases. She was born October 2, 1839 in Lawrence county and married Dr Harvey Taylor on March 30, 1882. Survived by sisters Kezia Harman and Katherine Dobbins and brothers Banner Allen O P Allen and J W Allen. Funeral at First Christian Church with Rev R T Gwyn officiating and Kilgore Cemetery burial.

Three Odon boys paroled after burglary plea
Lenny Callanan James Callanan Robert Overton and Floyd Neiswanger pleaded guilty to burglary and petit larceny tied to the Pickett Pershing Co store robbery. Judge M S Hastings suspended the Indiana boys schools sentence and paroled them to the Daviess county guardians after their arraignment and transfer to the county jail by Marshal Warlick.
