The Forty fifth National Encampment ordered bells tolled noon to 12 05 and flags at half mast. Citizens are urged to join in parades and services supervised by the I LL Band and G A R committees.

Principal streets received a fresh coat of oil this week and work will continue as more oil arrives. Harsh winds last week worsened dust nuisance in business areas, prompting removal of loose dirt and trash on Thursday morning and oiling starting that afternoon. Chas E Weaver local manager of Indiana Power & Water Co moves with his wife and son to the Taylor property on West Race Street opposite the school. Goods from Newcastle were four weeks in transit and several pieces were damaged in transit delaying their housekeeping.
