New Officers Honor Captain With Banquet

Mitchell of the Motor Car Division hosted a banquet for four new lieutenants R T Munzer F M Schornsein James W Smith and F W Darnelison who entered the commissioned ranks. Mitchell praised their proven worth and officer qualifications as the corps looks to deployment with pride and wartime zeal.

Red Cross Meeting Before Drive At U B Church

A large gathering is planned next Wednesday at the U B church to organize for the Red Cross drive starting Friday in this township. Washington visitors Fiavien Seal and Ec Faith will speak along with Mrs Faith and Mrs Fulkerson. The 8:00 pm program includes an invocation, addresses, a chorus, and music by the U B Orchestra.

Marriage of Lieutenant Hanson Whiteside and Emily Parole

Announcement from New Orleans states the marriage occurred Saturday May 4 in New Orleans. Lieutenant Whiteside, son of Mr and Mrs Herbert Whiteside of this city, will reside in Hattiesburg where he is stationed. Emily Parole is of New Orleans. Harry Freez of French Lick is visiting relatives.

Train Schedule Changes Take Effect Next Sunday

A new schedule to start May 18 alters most city trains except early morning and night services. North trains shift from 7 26 to 8 01 and 2 36 arrival to 2 42. South trains move from 9 40 to 9 33 and 5 43 to 3 05. The 7 00 morning and 8 00 night departures were not handed.
