Madison Township Schedules Fifth Semiannual Convention

The Sunday schools of Madison Township will hold their fifth semi annual convention at Good Hope on May 19 starting at 2:00 PM. The program lists devotions, talks, readings, round table discussions, a junior chorus, and a patriotic sons quartet. All township Sunday schools are urged to attend.

Primary results show Republican victories in county and townships

The primary passed quietly with Republicans winning most contests. R D McCarter and Chas Freed topped township trustee and assessor races. In Madison Trustee results favored McCarter and Callahan, with Freed winning Assessor. County nominees included Pershing Auditor Myers Treasurer Vance Sheriff Faith Wright Recorder Bush and Daily Commissioner. Democratic picks included Gantz Ferguson and Bays Congress with Eharman Sheriff and Smith Recorder among those with contests.

Crowd packs Odon church for Red Cross lecture

A large crowd attended at the Christian church in Odon for a Red Cross benefit lecture by Sergeant Van of the Belgian army. Despite broken English, the speaker clearly showed war implements and described Belgian suffering, ending with a call for Red Cross support. Music by Stott's orchestra accompanied the program.
