Young Woman Dies After Operation At Linton Hospital

Mrs. Wm. Malone of this township died Saturday at Linton hospital after complications following an operation earlier in the week. Born September 2 1894 in Green County she was 22. She leaves a husband M D Malone a son Ernest parents Mr. and Mrs. W E Morgan and siblings. Funeral at Pleasant Hill U B church with Rev. Ernest Roberts. Burial Walnut Hill cemetery.

Entertains Senior Class at Odon Home

Mrs Tom Batley entertained the Epsom senior class at her Odon area home on Sunday with several additional guests. Attending outside the class were Misses Mary Hastings Eliza Hyatt Mr and Mrs R S Williams Mr and Mrs W T Scott and Chas Harper. Charlie Line increased his herd with a registered Hereford bull from Warren T. McCray. The bull arrived in good shape by express and is described as strong bloodlines from the Fairfax strain, among the best in the country.

Ada Adkins Family Moves From Wheatland to Cale

Ada Adkins and family, long residents of Wheatland, visited family Tuesday then headed to Cale to establish their future home. Mr. Adkins has sold his Wheatland mercantile business and bought the store at Cale from Daniel Sargent this week.

Mothers Day Observances Highlight City Churches

Next Sunday churches across the city plan special Mothers Day services. At the M E church Rev. Trowbridge will give an address and a flag raising will conclude the morning program. The Christian church schedules a program including hymns, lessons, a sermon on mothers and home, and a flower display. The U B church program features music readings and addresses all performed by men.

Mr and Mrs W C Garten returned to their home in Indianapolis Tuesday after a few days visit with relatives here.

Death of Van Buren farmer and ex principal Eli Grable

Eli Grable a Van Buren township farmer and former Eaglesville and Epsom school principal was found dead in bed Tuesday. Coroner Poindexter ruled pulmonary hemorrhage. He was thirty eight, Indiana University graduate, funeral at his residence with Rev P F Fout. Interment Walnut Hill cemetery.

Registration Board Sets New Registration Dates

FE E Meade county clerk A B McCoy and Flavian A Seal of Daviess county registration board announce a registration session from June 6 to August 20 at the court house to receive and record registration blanks. The new law requires all voters to register for the constitutional convention election this fall. Registration can be by in person messenger mail or deposit with the primary inspector. no statewide primary this year.

Large mushroom found north of the city weighs nearly four pounds

Ernest Roberts found a giant mushroom in the woods north of the city last Friday. It stood twelve inches tall with a circumference of about twenty two and three quarter inches and weighed three pounds fourteen ounces.

Surprise party honors Herbert Helm on sixteenth birthday

A birthday surprise was held Friday evening at Herbert Helm’s home in west Odon with about eleven friends. The group played games and enjoyed salted peanuts bananas and candy.

Tuberculosis Death of Young Bogard Farmer

Robert Fulkerson a 22 year old farmer from Bogard township died yesterday morning at his mother's home near Epsom. Pulmonary tuberculosis was the cause after years of illness. He was unmarried son of the late James Fulkerson and is survived by his mother and two sisters. Funeral at New Bethel Church Sunday at 10 with Rev P F Feut in charge. Burial at the New Bethel cemetery.

Indiana firm seeks Knox county franchise for power line routes

The Indiana Power and Water Co requested a franchise from Daviess county commissioners to use highways bridges and watercourses for poles wires and power distribution in Plainville and to supply electricity countywide. A final hearing set for June 5 allows taxpayers to protest. Knox county issued a parallel franchise. Bloomfield firm seeks approval to buy Vincennes and other electric light properties to merge into a single system and finance with bonds stocks and notes totals. H. L. Clark serves as president with Bernard Korbly handling the petition.
