Mrs Mowery Dies in Community Funeral at Mt Zico
Mrs Hila Mowery, age 60, longtime resident of the community, died last Sunday near the city. She was wife of Leonard Sowers, who died seven years ago, and mother of seven children, with six surviving. She belonged to the United Brethren Church and was deeply cherished as a counselor and friend. Funeral services were held at Mt Zico Church Tuesday evening at 6:30 with Rev. Shake in charge, burial at the Mt Zico cemetery. A new filling station on Main Street began construction this week and should be ready for business by April 1.

Obituary noting physician's life and service in multiple towns
About twenty five years ago he came to this city and practiced here for years. He built a home on Spring street later owned by Dr. Ira Bowden and lived there after selling his practice. He partnered in Pavee and Rankin mercantile, then resumed medicine in Scotland and, during World War I, assisted Dr. Bowman in the army. He was loved for kindness and sympathy, and mourned across the communities he served. the Masonic order oversaw funeral rites.

Dr. T. B. Rankin a prominent county physician died at his Scotland home last Tuesday from complications of disease. He was about 74 and had practiced medicine for forty five years. Born near Coaline he married Martha Skomp and their son Thomas lives in Chicago. He leaves a wife and other siblings.
