Howard Bowman Dead Near Burns City
Howard Bowman aged 74 died at his home near Burns City last Wednesday morning from several debilities. He spent his life in agriculture and stock raising and is survived by his wife and three children Caswell Mrs Silas Crane and Mrs James Crane all residents of the community. Funeral services were held at the Christian church turns City Thursday at one o clock with burial in the local cemetery. Bloomington Ind Feb 8 Robert M Dearmin and John S Ketcham of Odon are among 30 Indiana University medical students in the fifth year training in Bloomington and Indianapolis. The six year course includes two college years and four years of medical study at the university hospitals and affiliated facilities.

White Robed Men Visit Plainville in Historic Klan Demonstration
The Ku Klux Klan staged its largest county event last Thursday in Plainville. Fifty four white robed figures formed a circle as fourteen candidates were initiated publicly on the street before about 1,900 spectators. A fiery cross burned at the east end while two explosions marked the signal to begin. The ceremony lasted about an hour and was followed by a master’s address, leaving Steele Township abuzz.

Washington Couple United in Marriage at Christian Parsonage
Christian Washington was the scene as James Washington married Miss Plessie Cunningham Jolliff last Friday evening. Rev Sargent officiated with Louis Lintz and Ruth Critchlow as attendants. The bride is daughter of Arch Cunningham and Mrs. Cunningham of this place. Mr. Austin works as a machinist at the B and O shops and the couple will reside in Washington after a brief honeymoon in Brookville.
