Jos F Webster formerly of this city died in Champaign last Sunday morning after a two month illness from valvular heart trouble. He was born in Martin County Indiana and was 40 years 11 months 6 days old. He married Pearl Bushart January 1 1890 at Danville and leaves two children Gilbert 14 and Bernice 12. He is survived by two brothers Georg W Webster of Champaign Fletcher S Webster of Chicago and a sister Mrs Win F Imes of Hammond Ind. The parents now reside in Hammond Ind.

Birthday Dinner for Eaglesville Noted Citizen Stuffle
Andrew Stuffle known as Stuffie in Eaglesville turned 75 last Wednesday. About 100 friends and relatives attended a celebratory dinner. Stuffle, confined to a chair by paralysis, enjoyed the day and received many gifts. He is a Civil War veteran who served in Co I 65th Indiana Infantry starting in 1862 for three years.

Jas Abell Dies At 75 In Elnora Citizens Banker Active Citizen
Jas Abell, a longtime Elnora resident and former Citizens Bank of Elnora figure, died last Monday at his home from general debility at age seventy five. He moved from Washington about sixteen years ago and is survived by four children Mildred Abell Harvey Swartz Frank Mitchell and Lon Critzer and a brother Jefferson Abell. Funeral services were held at St Simons church in Washington and burial followed at St Johns cemetery.

Allen Sentenced Man Taken To Michigan City Prison
Van Allen one of three men convicted of conspiracy to swindle an underwriter and to commit arson was moved to the state prison at Michigan City by county sheriff George Harman. Gladys Allen Dies at 31 in Indianapolis Tuberculosis
Miss Gladys Allen of 1941 Broadway Indianapolis died Monday from tuberculosis she had suffered since last September. Age 31 she was daughter of Mr and Mrs W R Allen formerly of Raglesville. Survived by parents four brothers and three sisters a Critchlow relative. She previously worked for Central Union Telephone Company in Indianapolis.

Pershing Thrown From Street Car in Indianapolis
C. E. Pershing sustained severe injuries last week in Indianapolis after being thrown from a street car that did not stop at the corner. He attempted to swing from the car in motion, was stunned on impact, and taken to a physician for treatment. He returned to his city Saturday evening.

School Notes On Township Exams And School Contests
The eighth grade graduation exam will be held in each township Saturday March 20. Teachers in Bogard township received a retirement gift, a family Bible, at their institute. Final exams for six month schools are set for Monday and Tuesday March 9 and 9. St John’s Academy students toured Cunningham school in Barr township for Washington’s Birthday with a joint program. Preliminary township contests February 20 produced strong results. gold medal winner margins look tight. The final contest is in the new high school March 13, with all invited. An athletic segment added points. Patterson and Hopkins tied at 27, Center 23, Taylor 6. Taylor arrivals late affected points but work remained strong, especially in arithmetic.
