Charles Young Killed on Logansport Rail Line
Charles O. Young thirty five year old Vandalia Railroad brakeman was murdered in a caboose near Clymers Indiana. His wages were taken from the pay car in Logansport hours earlier. Police hunt an armed killer after a blooded body was found. Survived by a widow and moved recently from Terre Haute.

Aged man’s suicide attempt ends with bullet deflection
John A. Bush, eighty four, father of Samuel Bush county assessor, tried to kill himself with a revolver Tuesday morning. The bullet deflected by a rib, and he will recover. He has long suffered heart disease and worry over health is blamed for the action.

Safe in Farmersburg Bank Blown Open
The Citizens' State bank at Farmersburg was robbed Sunday night. The safe was blown with nitroglycerine after entry through a rear window and $5,500 was stolen. The crime was discovered by morning cashier with no clues available.

Baum Murder Trial Timeline and Outcome
Clifton Baum killed his wife on January 11 and was arrested the same day. He faced arraignment on January 12 and was indicted February 9. Trial began February 16 with a guilty verdict after two hours of deliberation. Sentenced February 19 and sent to prison February 20 for life imprisonment. Sheriff Harman transported Baum to Michigan City.
