Rain Help In Village After Saturday Storm
A strong storm passed Saturday night around 9 30 bringing a short rain and a bright electrical display. The rain aided crops but lasted too briefly to fully relieve drought, with heavy rain reported to the south and north. Gardens and farms need more rain as potatoes suffer from dry weather and prior wet spells. Blight appears in patches and growers spray Bordeaux to combat it. Corn planting is lagging but a large late season effort is expected, while many bean patches were planted this week.
