The son of farmers Mr and Mrs B Sears a teacher and Odon High School graduate of 1911 married in a richly decorated Christian church setting. The ceremony officiated by Rev O H Trusty featured music by Miss Nelle Lane with attendants Clara Cumwings Leonard Eads Nota Ballard and others. After photos the bridal party proceeded to Base Stadin for reception and group photos.
A first booster voyage by Odon businessmen carried eleven cars through Dayies and Martin counties visiting Newberry Elnora Plainville Steele Washington and Montgomery. The S L band provided music at each stop as July advertising and literature distribution drew decent crowds and positive feedback.
Ward was received here by relatives last Sunday as authorities investigated the death of Geo Ward, son of Mrs. Sarah Ward of West Main Street, who had been found dead at his location.

Oliver O Laughlin of Bennett and Laughlin accepted the cashier post at the Farmers Bank of St. Bernice Indiana a bank recently organized by him. St Bernice is a new town twenty two miles north of Terre Haute on the C T H and B E railroad with coal mines nearby and good farming land. Laughlin has run a business in Odon for about twelve years and will relocate his family in four weeks.
The Journal News reports the marriage of Dean M. Inman former public school principal at Elnora and longtime editor to Elsie Cordelia Birch of Neoga at Fairbury on March 29. They plan a summer in Normal where she studies domestic science and he travels for the National Training corporation.
The Odon White Sox lost 3 to 1 to the Linton Eagles at Linton Sunday. Williams and Sents pitched for Odon. Gilmany pitched for Linton. Odon managed seven hits but left baserunners stranded, while Linton scored in the first, second and fourth innings and added a run in the eighth.
The Washington Greys beat Loogootee 2 to 1 at Washington 8 pastime park before 3,500 fans in a close Sunday contest. The Washington Herald published extensive coverage the next day.
