James Grayson and his sawyer Jesse May perished from falling limbs. Private Joseph Quirk of the ith infantry was fatally injured while aiding to control a horse stampede. A Harriman lightning strike killed a 15 year old girl and destroyed the Dugger residence injuring another daughter.

Admiral Killick’s fleet delivers troops and ammunition while northern revolutionists attack Firmin’s forces amid unprotected foreign residents.
Chicago on June 30 reports Bishop Fael Jons chairs a committee planning a World Fair style religious gathering for the 1904 Olympian games. The effort aims to parallel athletic planning with broad religious representation from invited nations. The project links endurance sports to religious worship and temperance.
A marble tablet bearing a gilded life statement of President William McKinley was unveiled at Metropolitan M E Church in Washington on June 20. Judge Thomas H. Nashville Indiana June 28 John Snyder 18 awoke from sleep to fatally strike his brother Grover 20 with an ax in their home near Becks Grove. The wound terrible and deemed hopeless for recovery. He says he dreamed burglars were in the house and struck while defending them.
A Saturday night cyclone across Posey county killed Clarence Goedde, Andy Goedde, and Christ Langal near Evansville. Frank Goedde, Peter Wolfe, and John Wolfe were injured as a two mile square area suffered heavy losses. Thomas Bertram died near Lincoln City. Clarence Goedde, a leading Posey County farmer, was killed seated at the table in a wrecked house.
Benjamin Pierce aged 18 shot and mortally wounded his aunt Mrs. Perryman Pierce aged 75 near Fayetteville Bedford County Indiana following a dispute over money. The 38 caliber bullet struck the head and Pierce was arrested.
Louis Will of Michigan City hanged himself in his room after giving his wife a sleeping potion. He used a rope from the rafters, aiming to avoid becoming a county charge, according to Laporte reports dated June 30.
Evansville Indiana June 28 Judge Hamilton Be Mattison of the Van derburg circuit court granted six divorces in less than an hour, a county record. Several cases were dismissed by default as others proceeded quickly.
In Wabash Indiana June 30 Howard Judd son of Thomas Judd near Akron jumped on a six foot blue racer barefoot to kill it. The snake bit the lad through his overalls coils wrapped his leg cutting off blood flow. He freed himself with a jackknife and severed the snake head, remaining calm after the danger.
The Western Writers convention in Warsaw Indiana concluded with a Friday banquet at Winona. The program adapted due to absent authors, and next year’s meeting will be at Winona as part of the Winona Assembly. Officers elected include Minnette Theodoral Tavwler as president the first female presiding officer, plus secretary E B Henry and treasurer J C Culmer and executive chairman W W Pirimmer.
In Brazil Indiana a coal miner Terrill Tipton was shot dead in a barber shop by an unknown assailant. Tipton had entered with companions after a dance when a shotgun blast through a window killed him. Earlier Tipton had shot at a man named Watts months prior, injuring him.
Mrs. W. W. Latta and her mother Mrs. Mary Layton were bound by five robbers who looted their Latta home four miles north of Ligonier, Ind. They forced the women to reveal pantry locations and had a meal before escaping. About $200 in cash and jewelry taken. Bloodhounds from nearby city on the trail.
In Indianapolis a second victim died Sunday morning at 5 oclock after the Broad Ripple street car collision. William Holmes suffered internal injuries and endured seven hours of agony. Sampson White the motorman died instantly. eight others were injured and recovering. The crash occurred nine miles from the city during a driving storm, rain obscuring the motorman’s view.
Johnny Rockefeller has donated 30600 to the University of Indiana at Bloomington for the erection of a building to be used for local religious purposes by students. The friends of Indiana must raise 30000. 14000 has already been secured.
