Poultry Show Closes Tonight in Southern Indiana

The second annual Southern Indiana Poultry Show ends tonight in the O'Dell building on East Main Street. About 400 entries entered this year, surpassing last season. Barred Rocks and Buff Orpingtons drew strong interest with many premium birds. Exhibitors arrived Monday and continued through Tuesday noon as hundreds visited the well-lit show space.

Birds arrived in good condition from Bedford and other towns including Mitchell and Switz City. Judge McCracken, a veteran of central states shows, praised the stock and town. White Rocks and Barred Rocks drew attention as judging concluded and ribbons were awarded for top birds and special classes.

Bowman case taken to Knox docket for damages

Willard Bowman sues B & O Southwestern railroad for 15 dollars claiming a lost dog and delayed hunting gear after a trip to the southwest. The case rests on the dog borrowed from a friend in Mortain County and escaped at East St. Louis baggage room.

Josiah G Allen acting as trustee sold the drug stock of Joe Dallams at Jassaville for $1.40. See Williams has not decided whether to reopen here or move the stock to another city.

Seigle Miller Dead in Bogard Township

Seigle Miller of Bogard township died Saturday at his home near Epsom from an attack. He was fifty one, a well known farmer, and leaves a widow, one daughter Mrs Len Crroll of Washington, two grandchildren Ivan and Docs Miler, a brother Henry Miller of Burns City, and three sisters Mrs Jas Hifi of James Steitsontry and Mrs and Mrs Charles Greenwood Engford township. Funeral services were held at Aioura Tuesday Rev C F Bucharen in charges. Burial was at Psisview cemetery.

Aunt Mattie Harris Celebrates 84th Birthday

Aunt Mattie Harris one of the city s oldest residents celebrated her 84th birthday last Sunday. Known as Aunt Mattie by all, she enjoys fairly good health and is an optimist. A number of people called to extend good wishes and she received many presents.

Heber Ledgerwood purchased the White Front Restaurant on West Main Street, S. W. Brown, and took charge immediately. He will expand service and offer a current line of restaurant goods. Ledgerwood previously ran the Spring Street grocery now owned by Cooper and Brady.

Jesse David Blevens and Ona Belle Fielder wed Saturday at 4 00 in the M E parsonage in Einora with Rev Shake officiating. Blevens is the son of Samus Blevens of Sandborn and a farmer. the bride Isiah Fielder a prominent farmer from southwest of town.

James Dagley Dies at Elnora in Illness

James Dagley, a longtime resident and retired blacksmith, died Friday night at his home in Elnora after a period of illness. He was about sixty eight and is survived by his wife.
