Dies at Terre Haute
A P Chinn formerly of this city died at his Terre Haute home last Monday from complications after injuries suffered in a railway accident December 20. He was born near Sedalia Missouri April 23, 1863 and was past 58. He worked for the Southern Indiana Railroad and later the M M & St P. He was married to Eva Georgia Correll July 21, 1889 and had five children. Survived by his wife and five children with sisters in Porter and Chauncey and a brother in Terre Haute. Funeral at the Brethren church with services held at Walnut Street.

Thomas J. Smiley longtime county surveyor and city civil engineer died at 10 25 am January 17 at his home 105 Northeast First street Washington after a two week bedfast period and two year decline He would have been 85 January 28 He moved to Washington in 1887 and served public offices with a reputation for honesty and competence He left a large family including sixteen children and a sister Mrs J A Hoosteller of Dover Ohio Funeral services were held from his residence with burial at West Hill Cemetery.

Pioneer farmer dies of pneumonia at 31 in Plainville
Austin Sawyer, a prominent Steele township farmer aged 31, died at his home near Plainville last Friday January 13 from pneumonia after a two week illness. He was son of John and Mrs. Lawyer of Plainville and husband of Martha Fiddler with five children. Survived by six brothers and two sisters including Fred Rolla Leonard Charles Mack Ralph, Mrs. Lon McBride and Mrs. Geo Hill. He belonged to the Methodist Episcopal church and to the Modern Woodmen of America Security Benefit Association and the I C C. F ihe funeral was at Plainville Christian church January 15 at 2 30 burial in Plainville cemetery.

Moses Woolbright a prominent Bogard resident died at his son Clarence's home after six weeks of illness due to heart trouble. He married Clara Matheny. they had one son and survive his wife, a brother in Centralia Illinois, with funeral services led by Rev. E B Catt at New Bethel. Burial followed in New Bethel Cemetery.
