Evangelistic Meeting Continues at M E Church

The M E church hosts an evangelistic meeting in its third week with about thirty five reconsecrations three conversions and ten accessions. Afternoon sessions engage members while evening crowds are large and many turned away. Rev Shake returns to preach after a funeral and urges self examination of faith and church life.

School House Burns in Bogard Township Fire Destroys Brick Structure

The Black school house in Bogard township was destroyed by Tuesday morning about seven o'clock. The origin of the fire is unknown and no one was known to be at the place. The blaze had gained headway when found and could not be stopped. The brick building and all equipment including the students books were a total loss. Electric light globes sold at the Rexell Store.

Infant Daughter of Chestnut Family Dies of Pneumonia

The eight month old daughter of Mr and Mrs James Chestnut southwest of the city died Tuesday night from pneumonia. The funeral was held Thursday at 2 PM from the residence with Rev Wm Faith officiating. Burial followed at Walnut Hill.

In Odon the Boy Scouts and the American Legion meet weekly at the First National Bank building to promote good citizenship. Scouts plan a busy spring with indoor winter training and summer hikes, and aim to remodel the Old Log Church north east of town into a new Scout home with a stone chimney and fireplace.

Greensburg visitor Melvin Hobbs stopped with his sister Mrs A M Clark, marking his first visit in 26 years. Various local residents and guests are noted visiting and spending weekends with family and friends around town.
