The History Club session featured disagreements over event dates and places. Notes recall early local churches including the Methodist and Christian congregations at Odon, Shiloh log church, Mount Olive Baptist, and other churches with formation dates from 1840 to 1876, plus era prices for goods like coal oil and eggs.
The Bedford Mail reports an elopement and wedding in Louisville for Charles Haas and Georgia Lane. The ceremony took place Tuesday December 27, performed by Father Richards and witnessed by the groom's sister Eva and brother Hubert. Mrs. Haas is known in Odon and Tawrence County as a musician and former teacher.
Quarterly conference of Olon circuit United Brethren church at Pleasant Will February 15 and 16. Communion during the 10 30 p m service Sunday with Rev J W Gilley presiding elder in charge. Special meeting at Pleasant Lill draws good attendance. Sunday school 8 30 a m Junior 2 p m Bible class 8 p m preaching 7 p m D P L McCoy pastor.
Elmore township asks commissioners to call a local option election under Proctor law. A petition with over 150 Elmore voters was filed with county auditor Thomas Nugent on Saturday afternoon. The board may order the election at the March term. A resident plans to seek a saloon license at Elnora. Columbian Wiyandottes eres for hatching. Mrs. W. TI. Hueston.
John T. Johnson cites opinions framing socialism as Christian ethics in action and argues socialism as collective ownership and democratic control will free workers, enable religious activity, and eliminate exploitation. The text contrasts socialism with religion and outlines societal benefits.
James M. Morgan a farmer near Plainville and known in Steele Township died at 6 PM Sunday from dropsy. A Civil War veteran he leaves his wife and several children.

Socialist lecturer Eile Reeve Bloor will address Asa Haig's Auditorium this Saturday February 18 at 2 PM. The event promotes socialist ideas and invites local residents to attend.
A marriage license was issued Friday to Harve Slinkard a farmer near Newberry and Miss Leora Strickland of Tinora.
The Christian Church invites all to Sunday school at 9 30 a m with Joe Callahan as superintendent. Sunday preaching follows at 10 30 a m and 7 00 p m by Brother C M Day of St Francisville Ills. All are invited to attend.
